Beelzebub

The devil’s greatest trick was to convince people he doesn’t exist.

He was born to a modest family, leading a humble and hardworking life. He later joins the military, and the savage war his country endures forges his personality and propels him, like many of his peers, towards steady promotion and reward. He coerces his way into political power through violence, embezzlement and fratricide, betting on pledges of conditional cooperation with
influential players. His immediate goal is to eradicate internal competition, be it political, military, or religious, but it fails miserably. Still, he vies for the top seat, defying mightier powers along the way. He suffers a shameful defeat, and years of confinement and segregation, which he puts to good use in terms of planning his comeback, and building his ideological proposition.

His strategy is legitimacy through popular support, in order to bypass legal and recognized channels of advancement. His modus operandi is a well-thought out, and to some, charismatic campaign, the
substance of which is nothing more than a virulent mixture of slanders against his opponents. He points them out as the culprits of all crimes, the reason for all grieves, and labels them as thieves,
murderers, and traitors, as well as likening them to lower orders from the animal species and microbial world. He thus emphasizes the need to rally around him, the “unspoiled soul,” and embrace his project for ethnic-communal protection and immunity against those “devious” elements of society. Indeed, when everyone else is part of the problem, then one becomes the self-designated and default solution… It doesn’t take a genius to foment that, and indeed it is nothing more than emulating other “model” dictators far and near. Falling for this scheme, however, as his audience did, does portend a significant degree of intellectual and analytical deprivation.

More so when he chooses to expand his reach, and courts foreign and ideologically opposite entities. To gather momentum, he goes as far as signing ill-fated agreements and understandings which totally rebuke his own tenets, and set the course for the nation towards the inevitable abyss. Perhaps the scariest part is his total rejection of international treaties, some of which he signed or petitioned for, thereby denying all arbitration prerogatives to any neutral entity, and further thrusting his gullible supporters towards mayhem. Of course, his policy of systematic militarization and structured indoctrination has ensured that everyone, young and old, is attuned to receiving orders and acting upon them, as opposed to the free, spirited and democratic participation every civilized nation seeks. Reluctant players such as the established political leadership, proven military competitors, rich and influential families, and even the Christian church which, anecdotally, he claims to support and protect, are all subjected to a well-focused campaign, which for many will exceed verbal vilification. The often meek reaction, coupled with his near-total control of the media, and his full appreciation of the effect of radio waves on brain waves will be the key to his rise, and the flocking of supporters.

His ultimate “achievement” will be to convince the world’s most educated population to throw its peers and fellow human into ovens. As we all know well, the infamous German leader was (literally) a plague to his country and the entire human world, causing death by the tens of millions, and Armageddon-like devastation, bringing a rare smile to Beelzebub’s fiery face.
Now I can see Him, the king of devils, smiling again. In the land of the First Miracle, the land of his first defeat, and veiled as an apostle, He has a second coming.Shall we, yet again, grant him free passage?

The above short take was written about thirteen or fourteen years ago, in the aftermath of the February 6 betrayal and enslavement to Hezb, who replaced Syria as military commander of Lebanon. Let us not forget that Hezb’s independence day is the same as ours: April 26, 2005.

Today he’s in the top seat, and in light of the multiple events we went through in the last couple of years, from Corona (multiple waves) to October 17 uprising (also multiple waves) and on to the decades in-building financial Ponzi scheme which saw the money of all Lebanese citizen become virtual numbers in a corrupt banking system’s cyber coffers, the ensuing social breakdown that followed (fuel and energy, medications and hospital system, bread and basic commodities, inflation and soon hyperinflation) and on to the political crisis of having no government before returning to the same corrupt players subjugated to Hezb that we sought to remove and now expect to solve our problems, and not forgetting the extinction-level-event which the Beirut port explosion was for part of the city. You caught your breath after this intentionally non-ending sentence? Ok, now take a deep breath and imagine our boat’s “Captain” in an “opposition” posture while these events happened, knowing full well that avoiding them would have required a direct confrontation with Hezb and its Corrupt Sulta pawns, respectively his masters and partners in crime, (and the enemies of any honest and patriotic president, their anti-thesis) and who, together with him, hold all state instruments and resources, including all of the armed forces. Imagine it again, because I see him in a massive armed uprising, supported by Hezb and the armed forces, seizing power by violence, and making permanent political amendment to our system, our constitution… to their benefit. An uprising he cannot do now, since he is the Captain himself. And I want him to stay there, in charge; not resign and get a chance at rebounding, but rather and preferably, see a permanent ending to the orange disease. Any other partial ending would allow him to once again, get up and back at us. Useful idiots thinking otherwise had better review this situation under this light. And mind you, he is taking with him the main cancer Lebanon faces, the Yellow one, and has uncovered the Green and Blue ones too, for their decades of wrongdoing.
It is time the Lebanese people woke up from their hapless attitude, and unite among common grounds and vision. The only motto would be, “RULE OF LAW”. The rest will follow.

It is time the Lebanese decide not to submit to nor partner up with Evil, and not go on with those they know are the top of the filth mound, be they driven by greed, fear, or both.
They’d be one level below them, at a time we need to rise.

Against the master of deceit, the Devil himself.
